| Pinons and Palms along with the Kanaka Hekeli Maui Chapter have come up with a one of a kind piece that represents the spirit of the Kanaka Hekeli. The image began over one year ago as an idea to create a pendant that honored the Kanaka Hekelii. After many hours of design, phone calls and diligence this piece was created. Scott, Tamahawk and Lamar kept getting the call "I have something for you to look at." The original drawing was taken from a Kanaka Hekili car sticker. After many drawing hours and dozens of obstacles every one agreed we were ready to go to the next step. The drawing was than put into a computer program that generated size and depth for the wax mold. We met many obstacles during this process because of our determination to have clean lettering on the Kanaka Hekeli banner. Everyones time and patience paid off. In December of 2008 the first piece was created.
Cast in Sterling Silver the piece is a beautiful replica of the original warrior. Each piece is numbered and at this time 50 pieces were created. The first ten pieces were held for the local chapter with the number "5" being auctioned off at their fifth annual Memorial Day event. Many numbers are still available. Each piece sells for $395.00.
